How long does it take to get a mortgage?This varies from lender to lender but typically you can expect to be able to get a mortgage offer within 6 weeks with completion at around 12 weeks. However, at TED Mortgages we recognise the urgency for our clients to get everything sorted quickly and as free of stress as possible. We pride ourselves on exceptional service levels to ensure you achieve your mortgage aspirations as soon as possible.

How can I improve my credit score to help me buy a house?There are several ways to improve your credit score. The best advice is to obtain a copy of your credit report before you want to start looking for a property. This will help you and and your adviser to work out a best plan of action to improve your chances of being approved for your mortgage. The three main credit referencing agencies are Call Credit, Equifax and Experian.

Do I need a mortgage broker?The simple answer is no. However, by receiving advice from an experienced and qualified adviser you are making sure you are getting the most suitable mortgage for your own bespoke circumstances. At TED Mortgages we are completely Fee Free which means we will do all of the hard work for you of researching the market, liaising with providers and providing your advice without any additional Fee's.

Can I get a mortgage with bad credit?At TED Mortgages we have access to a comprehensive range of mortgages from across the market and within this there are specialist lenders that will consider people with bad credit. By speaking to a qualified adviser you will receive advice and guidance as to which lender will be most suitable for your needs. ​ Mortgage deals may not be available and lending is subject to individual circumstances and status.

How long does a mortgage last?Mortgage terms vary from lender to lender. Ultimately the longer you take the mortgage, the more it will cost overall. By receiving advice you will be able to see the benefits of getting a mortgage term that works effectively for you.

When should I review my mortgage?Typically your existing lender will write to you roughly 3 months before your current deal finishes. Most remortgage deals are available to be reserved 3 months prior to your current deal finishing which gives you enough time to find the best new deal for you. At TED mortgages we will research the market on your behalf to find the best deal suited for your needs.
